I'm curious as to whether they gave you a device called an Incentive spirometer. If they did use it. If they didn't I'd like to to start doing controlled deep breathing. Start by sitting as tall as you can, shoulders back, head up. Open your mouth and inhale though your mouth slowly until you feel as though you absolutely cannot take in anymore air. Hold your breath for the slow count of 10 and exhales with your lips closed like your gently blowing out a candle. Perform this maneuver 10 times and see if it helps. We use it after surgery to help open alveoli (air sacs) that have closed down either from the surgery or the anesthesia gas. You should do this every hour that your awake for several days or until you are more physically active. However, if symptoms persist or become worse get on the phone to your doctor and demand he/she see you right away. Good luck.
After surgery , we all need to rest . Anistetic can have different reaction to each person .
Withdrawl from any narcotic can cause respitory problems.
well I am not sure about the whole thing, but just a bit of common sense here.Your body doesn't know you were cut into for a good reason.. All the body knows is that " Ive been stabbed!!" After any surgery you need alot of rest, and then to build yourself back up with physical therapy. See the doctor to put your fears to rest. And give yourself time to heal
