HELP!! What can this be?

Question:
I am a 19 year old female and i recently about 3 months ago found a lump just under my skin not visibe to the naked eye located in my lower abdomen! I didn't pay much attention to it then.I thought that it would go away over time but it seems to have gotten bigger!! i have a doctor's app later this month and i was going to discuss it with my doctor! BUT today i noticed that i have a small lump on my upper abdomen located just under my left rib cage! Now I am really worried!! Can anyone help me... has anyone experienced this before!! Do you know what it may be! i know that i need to go to the doctor but i am fearful of what she may tell me it is!! Do you think that it could possibly be cancer! I seem to be in excellent health although i have anemia but other then that i am in good shape! I tried to get in to see my doctor earlier to see her but she is booked up and she can not see me untill the end of the month. shold i go to the ER or wait to talk with my doctor! Thank you!

YOU know your own body BEST!
If you are that worried(I probably would be too!), keep the appointment you have AND go into "Emerg." first! That way if it IS something 'serious' you can be 'taken care of'; if they need to 'take tests', then it's most likely your regular Doctor would have to do the same -this way you wouldn't have an additional "appointment" to make/wait for, AND you already have an appt.(The one at the end of the month.) to be able to(hopefully) get the 'results'.(From the Hospital's tests.). ;)
(You get that?) :)
I hope all is well!
cancer
they could be cysts, or however you spell that. it should be fine until you go to see your doctor.
I think you should call back your doctor and tell them the urgency you feel this issue is. Hopefully they will move up your appointment or keep you posted in case of a cancellation. It could be cancer, a tumor, or a fatty cell buildup.
Bad answer from the previous poster but you shouldn't overreact... it could be swollen lymph nodes or something like that..(from an underlying infection)... I would call the doc back and tell them your concerns... maybe they can put you on a list where if someone cancels, you could get in earlier... If it is growing rapidly or bursts or some EMERGENCY happens, then go to the ER... otherwise, if you do go they will just tell you to see your regular doc, and charge you an arm and a leg. Good luck and try not to stress too much..
Relax.

Statistically speaking, you are at a very low risk for cancer.

The vast majority of lumps and bumps people have are NOT cancer.

It's good that you're going to see your doctor.
An appointment at the end of the month is soon enough. It's much better to see your doctor, who has your medical records and knows you, rather than an ER doc who won't know anything about you and will probably be more interested in the guy down the hall who's got some wild wounds.

Your doctor will examine the lumps. Doctors are trained to tell a lot by the way it looks and how it feels, like whether it moves around..

Your doctor will probably tell you then that everything is fine.

If your doctor thinks a lump feels suspicious, she will do a biopsy -- numb your skin and, with a long but thin needle, take a bit of tissue. That will go to the lab where the technician will look at the cells. That can help determine if there's cancer.

And, if there is, then you will be introduced to new doctors who will start treating you.

The most likely scenario is you'll go to the doctor, have your physical, get only good news, and be at Mickey-D's before dinner.
what you describe could be anything from "an ingrown hair" to a sort of pimple that is really nothing to worry about.

what you need to worry about is what you are going to do tonight for fun.

you can go to the ER or you can wait on your doc, but until the doc comes in and says, that will be 500 dollars please, you need to relax.geez they are expensive aren't they
If your Dr can't give an earlier apt then see if you can get an earlier apt with another Dr. I've had cancer twice & it isn't something you wait on. If you can't get an earlier appt w/your doctor then you can expect the same thing later from this dr so I would look for someone else that will give you the help you need NOW.
You didn't say if it was painful. Are you sexually active, are you having normal periods?
Call your Doctor again and explain that worrying is making you sick. If that doesn't work see another Doctor. Could be an ectopic gestation pregnancy, or an ectopia.
