Home treatment for swollen lymph glands in neck?
Question:
Answers:
Swollen lymph glands are a symptom, not a diagnosis. That means you shouldn't try to treat the symptom until you know the diagnosis (i.e. what is the probable cause). Swollen lymph nodes are caused by white blood cell activity fighting some invader in your body (bacteria, viruses, cancer cells, auto-immune attacks). You need to find out where the fight is and what it's about and then help your body win the fight. Lymph glands in the neck can be swollen from areas in the head, like teeth, sinuses, pharynx, etc. If you can't locate the problem area obviously, it's time to see your medical doctor. If he acts clueless, he probably is, find another one!
thats really weird. my aunt had that and the doc said its a spider bite and not to use and temperate changing things. she too drugs but i would just let time pass
It could be an infection which is serious work. However in the mean time try cold soft foods. Rinse/gargle with salt water if the throat is sore. I am no medical professional but my son has a chronic problem with his throat so this is our game plan normally.
Why I said an infection is the swollen glands can indicate just that. In our case we have him on an anti-biotic and Tylenol with codeine. A Dr. visit will tell you a lot you just have to get them to listen if it is a persistent issue. If it is it could also turn out to be an enzyme deficiency which is our son's problem.
sounds more like a sinus issue of nasal drip irritating the glands, advil cold and sinus or decongestant- you have to target the cause in order to eliminate the problem.
Feel better-
PS: if you bend forth and your neck hurts even sides of your head, it is sinus related
