You will need to take your meds every day for 6 months to a year.
BUT, you will not have to be isolated for that long. Generally, the contagion factor drops after a few weeks of therapy. Your doctor can test your sputum (gunk you cough up from your lungs) and let you know when it's OK to be around other people again.
When you are with people, make sure you cover your mouth and nose whenever you cough or sneeze. Do not share anything that goes in your mouth (forks, straws, cups, cigarettes) and avoid kissing people on the lips.
The important thing is to take your medicine every day. If you skip days, you'll have to start all over again.
It is curable and you will be fine. keep taking you meds. then realize you will not get it again!
You can workout, just do it outside in the fresh air, in the back yard, on your deck, where ever... just don't be coughing on people!
Chat with friends on line. its the new way to have a 'pen pal' your life is not over... just think of the alternative... death sucks too.
If it were me, I would have someone get some olive leaf extract capsules and lecithin granules for me.
I would start slowly with the olive leaf extract, one a day, for a few days. I'd gradually it increase...slowly. I'd drink extra water.
I'd take a couple tablespoons of the lecithin a day...and sprinkle it on food. The phospholipids in the lecithin have natural defenses against TB.
Good luck and be well.
