Can you tell me about shingles?

Question:
Is shingles catching ?

Answers:
Shingles is caused by the re-activation of the herpes varicellae virus (or more specifically herpes zoster virus), more commonly called Chickenpox. It causes burning pain followed by a small raised blister type rash, which usually follows the path of a nerve. Anyone in contact with you can't catch shingles, but they can get chickenpox if they've never had the illness before.

For relief of the symptoms, try using calamine lotion and taking simple painkillers to ease the pain.
shingles is the disease what you started
No. But they are painful little pimples. It's almost the same type of virus as herpes, but not contageous.
If a person has never had chicken pox then they will get chicken pox from it. It is the same virus that cause chicken pox just if you have gotten chicken pox then the second time you will get shingles.
Shingles are caused by a virus that lies dormant in your nervous system after you've had childhood chicken pox. No, shingles are not contagious. If you have shingles it is a good idea to isolate yourself however because your immune system is at its lowest point and you are open to any and all infections floating around.
Contagious, yes, but can cause chickenpox in those who have not had chickenpox. It will not cause shingles.
Shingles (herpes zoster) is just a reactivation of the same virus associated with chicken pox. It is usually brought on by a decreased immune system and stress. It is not contagious to anyone unless they have NOT had chicken pox, so if you have it take care around anyone that isn't sure if they've had chicken pox or not. It is best treated with an antiviral such as Valtrex, and needs to be treated within about 24-36 hours of the onset of the skin rash to be most effective.
Yes it can be! Shingles is the adult version on chicken pox you get if you are run down your immunity is low etc... Go to website below will help
Unfortunately yes, they are contagious just before the spots break out though and so by the time you know you've got shingles it's to late.
It is only contagious if someone has contact with the weeping sores! You can however give chickenpox to someone if they have never had it - just through normal contact.

I had it years a go and never gave Shingles or Chickenpox to anyone! It was a good excuse to stay away from work though as my boss had never had Chickenpox and was completely paranoid of coming anywhere near me!!
Hey there,

Shingles is the evolved form of chicken pax! Because its a virus that stays in our system, they normally rec cur in a later age about 50 and above.

Its called "herpizoster" virus which is link to cold virus. Young people are quite resilient to this as its a a weaker virus compared to its predecessor chicken pax. It mainly seen at like a bang of strip line located on someones back!

Its catching yeah but it will not normally present itself as shingles and if your immune system is god and your not in any major stress . .you'll be okay

I hope this helps!
They are contageous to people who have never had chicken pox before or cancer patients. The virus lives dorment in your body after you have chicken pox & comes out when you are under a lot of stress or sick.
Yes and no! You can't catch shingles from shingles, but you can catch chickenpox from it. Shingles is the re-activation of the chickenpox virus in a previously infected individual.
