I was diagnosed with Eptopic Atrial Rythym. What is that? I also have a heart murmur, high blood pressure and type 1 Diabetes [take Insulin] Can you tell me anything? I am already seeing a Cardioligist and I want to see if any one else has this and what can be done about it.

An ectopic beat is a beat the originates outside of the normal pacemeker of the heart (the sinus node) which is located in the atria. There are many varied atrial ectopic rhythms, the most common being atrial fibrillation. Take your pulse, if it's regularly irregular, then its most likely to be atrial fibrillation. Your cardiologist should have medicated you to prevent any side effects of atrial fibrillation.
