Asthma & Wine...Has Anyone else experienced problems?

Question:
I have allergy induced asthma. My only attacks (and by attacks I mean severe ones that I could not get under control after a few minutes) seemed to have come after trips to some local wineries. I never drank that much (usually one to three glasses) but usually within an hour I am having serious trouble breathing. I no longer drink wine, but was curious if anyone else seemed to have problems with this or had heard of others with the same issues.

Answers:
Yes - but only with red wine. Red wine has lots of histamines which are a very common irritant for people with allergies and/or asthma. My grandmother and I both had to give up red wine because it caused difficulty with breathing.
