Anyone have children with heart conditions?

I have a 2 1/2 year old that was born with pulmonary atresia. So far he has had 2 open heart surgeries and many cardiac catheters. He has had an MRI done on his heart and of course an endless amount of ECHO's and ECG's. He has had a conduit put in his heart which will need replacing with more OHS as he grows. AT the moment the arteries supplying the lungs are small and the cardiologists are discussing what they should do - perhaps balloon them open with a catheter as he is too young for a stent. He is going really well at the moment and although he has a few slight developmental delays, he is a really bright fellow that constantly keeps us laughing. I live in Australia and would love to chat to you if you wish. E-mail at joarrow@bigpond.net.au.
Not kids, but my husband was born with Tetrology of Fallot - and he's having another surgery next month - (He's 36 now)
I imagine it's stressful - good luck to you!
Have you ever looked at the Yahoo groups for parents of children with congenital heart issues? One is called CHIN - one is GUCH... Try achaheart.org - it's our favorite - it's a lot of adults who've weathered the storm.
My daughter is 19 months old and has had two OHS and one cath. We are scheduled for another cath August 23, with another OHS to follow in late September/October.
I belong to the Yahoo CHD group and there are several parents on there with older children. I also post on a board for children with heart problems on babycenter.com and there are a few moms there with older children too.
What kind of heart condition does your son have? My daughter has HLHS.
