Hi i need your help yahoo friends I'm doing research on my book and have a question?

Question:
I once saw in a movie I don't remember the movie but where a doctor made a patien belive that he or she was paralyzed from the waist down is it posible using certain drungs to do this make some by giving them drugs to lose function of their legs

Answers:
Yes an epidural would do this, but also a very experienced psychiatrist could make a patient believe they were paralysed by the use of hypnosis. It is bizarre but the patient truly believes it until they come out of the state of hypnosis.

Hope this helps!

There are various paralyzing drugs used during surgical procedures.

But those drugs paralyze everything.

Do focus on one part of the body, you'd probably need a nerve block or something else surgical.
I think that you're talking about the movie with Harrison Ford and Michelle Pifier.. Anyway, he drugged her so that she was paralyzed. But, he used a powerful neuro ( nervous system) medication that paralyzes the diaphragm ( necessary for us to breathe) muscle. Yes, it is possible but, not recommended for anything other than anesthesia purposes.
