Whats the most effective food to fight hypoglycemia?
Question:
Answers:
Small, frequent meals that include some protein.
Avoid sugar. (When you dump sugar into your system, your pancreas responds by pumping insulin into your blood stream. In hypoglycemia, it removes more sugar than it should, but eating sugar only makes the problem worse. Protein snacks will help to keep your blood sugar stable.)
OJ
Balancing my diet with protien has worked for me. I'm a big carb fan, I love pasta, bread and sweets... I know it's bad for me but I love them... Anyway I had to start eating protien, like peanut butter, jerkey, cheese... for snacks and even for breakfast because my blood sugar keeped falling. It's best to try to eat small meals about 6 a day and snack on protien during the day. I also carry hard candy and glycose pills in my purse for emergencies.
Good Luck!
the quickest way to bring up blood sugar is to drink about 4 oz of orange juice it has the most sugars of fruit juice. Any juice will work but oj is the best.
Talk to your doctor if you are experiencing a lot of low sugar episodes.
Jerusalem artichokes are good for hypoglycemia, they keep the blood sugar balanced. These are the root from the jerusalem artichoke plant not those green artichokes with spines on the leaves. Once in a while they have them at the grocery store where I shop but not all the time, maybe it's the same in your area. I have found that the herb licorice works very good for keeping the blood sugar stable too.
