I have 2 small lumps behind my ear, and a history of a swollen lymph node in my throat?

Question:
Since I was in elemetary school, i have noticed that I have had two small lumps behind my ear. When I was sixteen my doctor diagnosed me as having a swollen lymph node in my throat. His explainantion: the node swelled to the point that it hit a nerve to my ear. for about a week i could not move my head nor swallow anything, not even saliva. the pain in my ear felt like a needle sticking my inner ear. I could not move, eat, or drink anything. i had to hold a rag over my mouth to catch the saliva. the doctor gave me streroid shots and antiboitics. it went away. he told me he didnt know what caused it, and that the condition may return. im 19 now and 3 years later my condition has returned. if i cannot get a cause of my condition this time, then i may have to resort to finding another doctor.

Answers:
If I was you I would find another doctor. The reason I say this is because lymph nodes swell for a reason, our lymph nodes fight diseases for us and the swelling indicates that you are fighting some kind of infection. The reason there are lumps behind your ears is because there are lymph nodes behind your ears. It sounds like you had an advanced ear infection the first time this happened. When the body suffers from infection all lymph nodes are called into action. But really I would see another doctor.
that would be wise
find another dr or go to hospital. I once had swollen lymph nodes I was sick with tonsel problem.couldnt swallow any thing either, went to hospital they gave me 1 shot of penecillin in one side of my rear and a shot in the other.hurts real bad I got better.best advice go emergency you dont want to suffocate.
If those two lumps (lymph nodes) are still there, you should have a biopsy to find the cause. Suggest this to your doctor and if he doesn't agree, get second opinion. If cause can be found and treated, you would not get recurrence and suffer. Such bad tonsils should have been removed too.
I would like to know what is the diagnosis.
Good luck!
