No, but it will sure make their headaches go away! Man, their are multi-billion dollar corporations selling acne medicine, do you think that if aspirin and water worked they wouldn't be seeling it to you. Think about it, be a little more skeptical about this kind of thing. Over the counter acne medicine is very good, if you use it the way it says. If that doesn't work, then see a dermatologist to go the next step and they can clear you up in no time.
If you make a paste of ASA and H2O and apply it to blimishes it will improve the area. The acid in the asprin draws and opens the pore to release the "gunk" in the pore, thereby clearing up the pimple. My daughters have used this method for years and it works.

Nothing makes pimples completely go away.
Most teenagers will have lots of pimples at some point or another. Despite all the over-the-counter stuff, some good old habit changes are what really work best:
- Lay off greasy foods, junk food and fast food. They make the problem worse. Some people have stronger reactions to different foods as well (caffeine and dairy always made my skin worse)
- Wash your hands and face (especially around your mouth) with soap after eating anything. Don't go nuts and make your face red, just get the grease off.
- Take two showers a day, or at least wash your face and hands with warm water and soap before you go to bed.
- Change your pillow case once or twice a week
The oxy stuff works a little, but I found the above to work at least as well, without totally drying out and irritating your skin and making you spend hours in front of the mirror doing spot treatment.
You won't get rid of all of them, but you will get rid of the extra that is caused by habit, not hormones.
