Lately I have had a difference of 50 between my systolic and dystolic blood pressure, should I be concerned?

Question:
Everytime I take my blood pressure there is a difference of about 50 between my systolic and dystolic numbers. Neither number is high it is usually about 118 over 68 or around that. I am just wondering if I should be concerned. Existing conditions I am also 7 1/2 months pregnant and anemic. My doctor said not to worry but I am unsure of her answer. So I would like informed answers from a doctor or nurse. Thank you.

Answers:
Hey there Angela! I think you're in pretty good shape. I would concentrate on the anemia and what you can eat to help that along. The blood pressure is fine and the difference you point out is called the pulse pressure. In someone with known heart problems it could be a secondary indication of a weak heart but I seriously doubt that in you. If you're healthy and young enough to be pregnant then it wouldn't apply to you. Hope this helps. Relax and get some more iron in your system. Maybe a little more red meat but don't overdo that.
Listen to your doctor. I did too when I was pregnant. Its the lower number that is of concern.
That is a good BP, seeing how your pregnant that's very good. they say the norm is 120/80 but these days that's considered prehypertension.. so your below that.
The last time I had my blood pressure checked (about 2 weeks ago) it was 132/72 which is 60 apart and I asked my doctor if that was ok and she said it was normal. I wouldn't worry but you could always get a second opinion.
