Question about cold sores?

Question:
ok i had a cold sore it dissapeared like 4 days ago how well are the chances of me reinfecting myself?? is the viral shedding process done because its been about 4 days since any sign of the sore was visible

Answers:
There is a good chance the viral shedding is not complete. Abreva works good if you catch it in time. But if it's too late, your best bet is to get a perscription for Valtrex. You can take it episodically.
Cold sores are something you never get rid of completely. They are a virus that is in your system.

things that cause them are
sun, stress, 2 much acid, exc.

the best thing to use is abreva.
You can't reinfect yourself because you still have the virus present in your body. Cold sores are caused by a Herpes virus, which lays dormant in your body for life. In times of stress or illness, the virus becomes active again and erupts into a cold sore.
