What are some symptoms of Mono?!?
Question:
Answers:
Those are the main symptoms - they're really almost diagnostic of mono. Fever is also common, and there may be vomiting and/or lackof appetite. It happens most often in teenagers, though sometimes small children can get it as well. They recover from it fairly quickly, but teenagers/young adults can be sick for a long time - months. If you haven't been diagnosed, it's important that you see a Dr. He'll have to monitor your white blood count (it can get quite high), as well as check your liver and spleen. Liver involvement is uncommon but, when it occurs, it can be dangerous. It can also be serious if the spleen is involved. The sore throat may not last too long, but the swollen glands may stay that way for a while, and the worst part of it is that, if you have mono, you're going to feel exhausted for a LONG time. There are no antibiotics that can treat mono. The most important thing is to get a LOT of rest - take naps, stay home and watch TV or read. It's also very important to drink plenty of fluids.
Mono will be in your system for your whole life (but you won't always have the symtoms). It used to be thought that the Epstein-Barr virus (which causes mono) could cause chronic fatigue syndrome later in life, but the most recent research doesn't seem to support that.
Anyway, the more you rest, the sooner you start to feel better. Have you seen a Dr. yet? It's really something you have to do. And it's remotely possible that you have strep throat - that also causes a sore throat and swollen glands (and, in the beginning when you first get it, it will make you really tired, too) That can (and must) be treated.
Bottom line: If you haven't seen the Dr. yet, it's really
important that you go as soon as possible (depending on your age, to a pediatrician or to your family Dr.). I sure hope you feel better soon! God Bless.

ya feeling like your gonna die! LOL a fever, vomiting.
loss of all appetite, chilled, no energy --- you rarly go to bathroom....
Yes there are. The initial symptoms of mono are: general lack of energy, loss of appetite, and chills. These initial symptoms can last for 1-3 days before more intense symptoms or illness begins. The more intense symptoms include: severe sore throat, fever, and swollen glands in the neck area.
In addition to a fever from 102 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit, the most common signs of mono are:
a very reddened throat and tonsils and swollen lymph glands in the neck.
The tonsils have a whitish coating in at least one-third of the cases. The spleen (sometimes referred to as the body's biggest lymph node), is an organ found in the left upper abdomen underneath the rib cage which becomes enlarged or swollen in about 50% of patients with mono. An enlarged liver may also occur. About 5% of patients have a splotchy red rash over the body, which has a similar appearance to the rash of measles.
Hope this helps. :-)
okay i had mono twice and i am like the total expert on it. it depends on how mild/severe of a case you have. there can also be:
nausea
vomiting
and fever
but mainly the symptoms you named. if it continues i would advise you to see a doctor and get tested for mono even though their is no cure and it has to go away on its own. i would take it easy though, because if you dont you could rupture your spleen.
if it turns out you have mono, feel free to email me because i know a lot of solutions on feeling better.
good luck i hope you arent sick!
