Does honey make your skin dry?

Question:
i have read allot of places to put honey and cinnamon on my zits...i like it cuz it seems to work BUT is it supposed to make my face flaky? what do i do bout this...

Answers:
Nope. Honey is a humectant, meaning it helps to keep the moisture in your skin, not dry it out. That's why it's used often in moisturizing masks, lotions, face and body washes. It has to be the cinnamon. It would make sense though, things like cinnamon oil can actually irritate the skin. I'd stop using that. You could try using lemon juice, letting it dry and then putting a dab of honey on. The lemon juice will dry it out, but that's good for a blemish and the honey is the moisturizer to follow up with. You can also try tea tree oil, which I hear works very well.
