Do you need a prescription to buy syringes and needles for them?

Question:
for humans

Answers:
Depends on where you live. In some states you can get insulin syringes without a prescription. You can also buy them at some on-line pharmacies.
I'm pretty sure...
Yes
No, atleast in India, syringes and needles are available OTC, they are of disposable nature and should not be reused in any other patient or person.
I get a needle of vitamin B12 every week or two. When I was in the US, I couldn't buy my injectable B12 or needles without a prescription. I went to my doctor's office and they gave me a shot for $5. In Canada, I can buy everything I need to give myself my B12 shot. The problem I have is that I can't stick myself with a needle. It's a bit ironic...

In the US, you do need a prescription. In Canada, you ask the pharmacist for what you need.
I live in San Diego and I just walk to the pharmacy counter and ask for them. No script needed.
