Does breastfeeding keep arthritis in remission?

Question:
Hope someone with expertise can help me with this one, my psoriatic arthritis went into remission when I was pregnant, so I was wondering if now my breastfeeding is keeping it at bay as it hasn't come back yet, or maybe (hopefully) it is truly in remission. I would love to wean my baby very soon, but scared the pain will come back with a vengeance!

An interesting Q
As you know we do not know the cause of psoriasis and the arthropathy. I have seen the same thing before.

Your hormones have changed so much when you were pregnant and breast feeding with massive surge in your natural steroids-I think this is why you gone into remission.
When you stop breast feeding I think that it probably will return possibly after about 3 months.as you return to your non pregnant state-I hope that I am wrong but this is what happened in my previous patient.
May I suggest that you ask your rheumatologist
If there is no problem you may delay weaning, in some places the breast feeding is continued till 2-3 years, you have not given age of your baby.
Whatever treatment you had been taking before, may also be started soon after weaning the baby completely of breast. It may prevent exacerbation. I can imagine how you must be feeling, may God bless you with courage and tolerance, all the best!
I never heard this before, you can't breast feed forever
