Holy hell, do I have diabetes?
Question:
I heard that in some diabetic cases, one or both legs are usually amputated! Can someone describe the symptoms of diabetes so I'll know what to look out for? I'm 19 years old and I'm afraid that I might have ignored or overlooked some vital symptoms!
Answers:
You don't have diabetes. Ignore the aSSholes.
see your doctor
then go to the doctor!!
lol.. that doesnt mean you have diabetes.. you hurt your leg idiot.
Well, what is your blood glucose level? Have it tested! But I am sure you don't have diabetes
diabetes causes low circulation in severe cases. Numbness and amputation doesn't typically occur until middle age or later.
Signs you might have diabetes are
Frequent urination
Insatiable thirst
you smell like fingernail polish remover
The pain in your leg could be caused by a blood clot though. Not likely at your age, but I guess it's possible.
Most likely you just slept on it wrong.
Diabetes?? You'd be thirsty as hell,, pissing like a racehorse and not feel well (tingly fingers and toes when not enough sugar, etc, tired when too much). Do these sound like your symptoms?
Why the hell would you want to ask people off the internet for?
Are you a freakin fat asssss or some thing?! GO SEE A DOCTOR!
Symptoms of Diabetes can vary between people. You really should go see a Dr. and voice your concerns. Only a Dr. can help you sorry to say YouQA.com cannot!!
yes
Listen, you need to go see your doctor about this one. And if you want to learn more about the symptoms check out this website: http://www.webmd.com
It could be a LOT of things other than diabetes. You might have poor circulation today. Do some exercise and take an aspirin and see if that helps. If not, see your doctor. Good luck.
Yea, I'm pretty sure that leg needs to come off. Enjoy it while you can. lol
ouch!
I doubt you have diabetes. You have some kind of leg injury or infection.
Check out this website: www.webmd.com
It has useful answers. You should probably see your doctor. It might be something like chronic muscle cramping. YouQA.com is not the best place for serious medical questions.
poor wittle wittle sucky boy. Don't be stupid . Its likely nothing more than a leg cramp. Grow up
They have to have them amputated due to sores getting infected to the point that they won't heal..so w/ you having a pain in your leg, I doubt that it is diabetes...

Symptoms of diabetes:
Excessive thirst and appetite
Increased urination (sometimes as often as every hour)
Unusual weight loss or gain
Fatigue
Nausea, perhaps vomiting
Blurred vision
In women, frequent vaginal infections
In men and women, yeast infections
Dry mouth
Slow-healing sores or cuts
Itching skin, especially in the groin or vaginal area
Call Your Doctor If:
You feel nauseated, weak, and excessively thirsty; are urinating very frequently; have abdominal pain; or are breathing more deeply and rapidly than normal — perhaps with sweet breath that smells like nail polish remover. You may need immediate medical attention for ketoacidosis — a potentially deadly complication of type 1 diabetes.
You are having weakness or fainting spells; are experiencing a rapid heartbeat, trembling, and excessive sweating; and feel irritable, hungry, or suddenly drowsy. You could be developing hypoglycemia — low blood sugar that can occur with diabetes treatment. You may need to eat or drink a carbohydrate snack quickly to avoid more serious complications.

woah dude calm down! Get a grip. lol
First make an apt to see your doc- for your leg. Do not say anything about diabetes, you have no proof yet so chill out.
You may have pinched a nerve from sleeping wrong, it could be nothing. How long has it been going on for?
Ok diabetes, my exman has this, EASY symptoms, I sent him to the doc he is mad but he has it (type 1) he is 26. Symptoms include-thirst, sleepiness, loss of ALOT of weight, confusion, iratability, constipation. The thirst was the big one. He would easliy down a gallon in a few hrs and no quenching the thirst. He had to pee like crazy. He also slept every chance he got, 10+ hrs a day. If this may be you, drink no sugar! Drink water. Cut out desserts etc until your doc apt. Get an apt for bloodwork.
But relax for now. Make the apt for your leg, let the doc do the troubleshooting.
go to the doctor and have it checked out it might not be that but if you eat lots of foods that have sugar well.i don't know but hopefully you don't have it but just in case stop eating foods that have a lot of sugar and instead of added regular sugar try splender
Jake, to have to have a leg amputated the diabetes would have to be in the highly advanced stages. These stages would start out by you leg and foot slowly becoming numb beginning at the toes and advancing through you foot and then up your leg. Usually the first Amputation is the big toe. Then later, the foot up to just below the knee.
The amputation has to be done because the blood flow is slowly cut off from the toes, then the foot and later the leg. After the blood is cut off, the big toe dies and gangrene sets in. Then the foot dies and gangrene sets in. See? The chances of you having to have a leg amputated is extremely low as you still have blood flow since you have pain.
Through out you life be careful of diabetes though. Its a silent killer. Pops
It appears that some of the responses to your question were not very sympathetic to say the least...but I'd say you may still just be having some "growing pains", but to be on the safe side, if the pain continues, just make an appointment with your doctor, and get checked out...
