Can someone tell me about tatoo removal? How painful is it? What's it cost ?

My tatoo is huge and very visible. I mad the mistake of getting part of it redone by a guy who just messed it up in the end. I'm interested in getting it removed, but does it leave a scar? Is there a kind of removal without leaving a scar?

I had the laser treatment done on mine. My tatoo was about 2 inches by 2 inches, and it cost me $300 every 8 weeks for a year and a half. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat, but I have to tell you, it was the most painful thing I've ever experienced. Luckily, it only lasts about 10-20 seconds to do each time. I did not have any scarring, and it is completely gone - like I never had it at all. The pricing I mentioned will vary where you go, but it's pretty expensive.
