What causes a yeast infection?
Question:
Answers:
An imbalance of the natural healthy PH of your body.
Essentially, the main cause of yeast infections is Candida Albicans, a fungus which naturally exists quite harmlessly around the genitals and on the skin. Ordinarily, the acidic environment around the vagina helps to prevent yeast from growing. However, sometimes due to external circumstances, the body’s balance can be disturbed and this is normally the cause of yeast infections
This imbalance can come from diet, medications, soaps and douches , or other factors. Males (especially uncircumcised) are very prone to these fungi although they generally do not cause symptoms for them. So when you are treated, treat your partner also. (There are OTC treatments available)
Oxidation.
sex can cause it, but if your not sexually active, it could be the nickers your wearing or the soap you wash yourself with
Anti-biotics, tight clothes, sex (the man is not clean) or hormone changes in the body.

Not washing your vibrator after each use
Altering the pH of your vagina. That's why you should only use a proper lubricant. http://www.sylkonline.com/ is a good one. No petrochemicals. I don't know about you, but I don't want to be up close and personal with petrochemicals!
depending on the type, various forms of bacteria .
If you are on an antibiotic, it can kill the "normal flora" (bacteria that your body NEEDS down there) that help keep the yeast fungus down. If the normal flora is killed, then the yeast can prosper.
That being said, if you use an antibacterial soap, it can also kill the normal flora and allow a yeast infection to grow.
Eating yogurt every day may be able to help keep the yeast population down, too.
