Donated blood 2 weeks ago, right after got high pitch ringing in ear, ever hear of this?

Question:
donated blood (double red cells) july 27. next day noticed high pitch ring in ears. Went to ENT, no wax no infection, passed hearing test except for higher frequencies. went to my dr, he told me that maybe because of sudden loss of 20% of my red cells may lowered blood flow thru ear. anybody ever hear of this? is this tinnitus permanent?

Answers:
I've heard of it. It's not permanent. You have been hurting for red blood cells, that means less oxygen for the extremeties of your body (and your ears are some of the least important as far as your body is concerned). I wouldn't bee too concerned. Make sure you keep hydrated, and try not to let your blood-sugar levels get too low. Get that iron so you can make more red blood cells soon.
