Doctors?Nurses?
Question:
Answers:
Like the others have said...probably due to the dry air. A humidifier is good if you have access to one.
I would also suggest getting some saline nasal spray to use several times a day. You can even use a little vaseline...put a small amount on a q-tip and lightly swab the inside of your nose.
Trust me, it'll help.
Your nasal passage is probably dry due to the air conditioning...get outside in the humidity a bit more, drink more water, and you should be fine..good luck and God bless.
I'm not a nurse or doctor - but I can tell you that nose bleeds are common if your nose is dried out. Perhaps you are used to a higher humidity, so your nose is kind of "chapped" inside, and it makes it bleed. My brother used to get them every winter when the heater came on because it would dry out the air so much. My mom bought a humidifier, and it really helped him out a LOT.
It could also just be coincidence that you got one while visiting someplace new.
Typically, spontaneous nose bleeds should not be alarming unless they are very HIGH blood amount, or if they are very frequent.
I only clicked on your question to look at the picture of the lovely lady. Yum.
Your nasal passages are probably just dry, maybe the wonderful NY pollution is making your passages inflamed as well.
It maybe as the others said. If the bleeds last less then 45 minutes and do not soak a face towel - do not worry and see your doctor when you return home. If this is not he case and they are lasting longer and do at least soak a face towel, go to the ER the next time it happens. And welcome to NY.
Epistaxis is nose bleeding, which occurs from the anterior or posterior portion of the nasal septum. Diagnosis is by direct visualization. Treatment varies by site of bleeding but includes cautery and various types of packing.
Nosebleeds are very common. Most nosebleeds occur because of minor irritations or colds. They can be frightening for some patients, but are rarely life threatening. Nosebleeds are more often annoying than a serious health threat, although they can indicate the presence of other underlying illnesses.
Consult ENT specialist. Don't blow/expel air through your nose while you bleed.

dont worry most of the time its due to the sudden change in temperature or if there's also a sudden change in the height of an area. if it keeps happening(the nose bleeding) i think u should go see a doctor immediately..
