Diabetes Mellitus- In Greek terms,it is Honey in the urine. sugar in the urine is classical sign of diabetes. Divided into two types 1 and 2. Diabetes 1 is also called as juvenile diabetes. In this type the pancreas is unable to produce insulin. In type 2, the body produces the normal insulin, but the cells do not have the receptors to absorb the insulin and convert them to energy. Diabetes can be controlled by diet and lifestyle modification. Complications of diabetes include nephropathy( renal damage),Neuropathy(nerve damage) and retinopathy( blood vessels of eye are damaged). If you have diabetes, You need to be on insulin injection. Type 2 is adult on-set and can be controlled with diet, exercises, and oral medications. Type 2 is juvenile diabetes. This is controlled with insulin injections.
