66year-old female continually losing weight.Now 7 stone tests negative.Now going to have op.on thyroid.Ideas?

Question:

Answers:
Vague history -few facts. presumably they have found that her thyroid is over active-Hyperthyroidism-this can cause weight loss- and removal of part of the thyroid or a "hot nodule" will help

Tests negative -I assume that other causes of weight loss -such as bowel conditions and diabetes have been excluded
its called old age
The fact that they are suspecting the Thyroid suggests it is overactive.
Your general symptoms will be:

Over-activity, rushing around yet exhausted
Problems sleeping
Heart beating too fast and feeling palpitations
Loosing weight
Protruding eyes (sometimes) looks startled
Several other symptoms!

If this sounds like you, then HYPERthyroidism it is. Meaning your thyroid is working overtime. They will probably remove it and stabilize you on an oral dose of thyroid.
Yeah have her take a product called Iodoral for a few weeks. They cant figure out what is wrong with her so they are just guessing. 66 is not old age. The iodoral will bring the thyroid back to normal without surgery.

There must be something positive if she is having a thyroid op! Weight loss might have been caused by thyrotoxicosis. The absence of any real facts in the question makes further surmise dubious.
