Be there for them when they hit the bottom... I've suffered from this before and worked with kids who suffer from it... like the above answer said, you can't help someone who won't help themselves...
You can only be there to catch them when they fall. :(
Sorry to say but you can't. Even the Lord won't help those that won't help themselves and I don't think you are greater than that.
Honestly there isnt alot you can do my best friend was anorexic and wouldnt except any help but at least when she was ill we could help and understand why this was happening. Eventually he will realise you jus have to be there when he does and also doing little things like complimenting him will help that way he might improve his self image. BUT when you do this make sure you choose your words carefully you dont want to accidently encourage him into lossing weight. good luck xxxxx
