I seem to have a virus. I feel weak, dizzy and temperature goes up and down. What should I take/do?
Question:
If I lie down, I'm ok. But if I do anything I feel like I'm ready to keel over, I feel so weak, and my temperature is fluctuating.
What have I got? ANd any tips to get over it, quickly?
Answers:
You should use a good anti virus programme like Norton or AOL spyware to protect yourself against viruses.
you should drink tepid tea and soup broths
rest as much as you can =take pills for flu
if it gets worse ,go to hospital=get better soon
For a start off get off the computer and into bed.
If you feel hot don't put the quilt over you, just lie down.
You probably have heat stroke, so stay out of the sun, drink plenty of water and sit near an open window so you get plenty of fresh air.
That could be a variety of things, and it's always best to seek medical attention if it gets bad enough that you can't keep your balance and/or have a temperature of over 100 degrees F.
Take paracetamol (acetaminophen/tylenol if you're in the USA) every 6 hours and rest for a couple of days and you should be fine. If you feel as though the room is spinning when you say you feel dizzy, you may have an inner ear infection or labyrinthitis, unfortunately there's no specific treatment for this, it just goes away after a few days.
go to the doctor
well it sounds like a virus and viruses must take their course so you can't really do much to make it go quickly, try taking some Tylenol, getting lots of rest and fluids, it should help at least with the symptoms
firstly you need to take paracetamol to regulate your temp, having a high temp will only make you feel worse! other than that drink plenty of fluids and get to bed, get under the duvet and sweat it out while yr asleep.
I was going to say anxiety but that wouldn't make your temp go up and down. You could have what is called a summer virus and there is no 'cure' for a virus. You just have to wait it out I'm afraid. Drink lots of clear fluids and rest IF it is a virus.
How hot is it where you are? If you're in an area where the temp is greater than say 85 outside and you're inside without air conditioning, or are outside in the heat you may be having a heat stroke or suffering from heat exhaustion rather than just a virus of some kind. First, get out of the heat if that might be your problem. Next, are you a diabetic? It could be a blood sugar level that is low, but that won't affect temperature, just the dizzy & weak. Or did you get bitten by an insect lately like a tick or spider?
It could be a lot of things, so rather than ask strangers to diagnose something that they can't see, you should consider going to a doctor because there are a lot of things that could cause these symptoms, not just a virus.
mmmm- man flu- three weeks in bed with lots of pampering. Make sure you are not dehydrated- we have been fooled by the sun coming out so plenty of fluids essential.
