Sleep disorder??
Question:
Answers:
Certainly exhaustion could be a factor. Have you ever been told you snore? Sleep apnea is a common condition that causes people to have brief episodes of stopping breathing during the night. It sometimes results in very, very heavy sleeping. Talk to your doctor if you sometimes wake up gasping for air or if you snore frequently.
If you also have trouble waking up to alarm clocks in the morning because you are in such a deep state of sleep, you can get an alarm designed for people who are deaf. I have one called the "sonic boom" that clips to your pillow and vibrates you awake. It has made a world of difference for me. (and my husband says a helicopter could land in our bedroom and I would sleep straight through it.)
good luck.
have your oxygen level checked in your blood could be you have to much carbon monoxide in your blood stream. that's if you get plenty of rest in the first place
Being the parent of a very young and energetic toddler would certainly be enough to leave you worn out at night and exhausted. In that state, you would sleep deeply. There really aren't any cures, other than to sleep more and go to be earlier so you wake when the youngster does. When mine were of that age and tended to want to go out, we installed a hook and eye latch at the top of the backdoor and a deadbolt at the top of the front door- both out of reach. That way, we could go to sleep and feel secure about a toddler going astray. That might be your best solution as well.
well, i envy u. i don't sleep more than 4 hours a night. i know if you have to wake at a certain time, say after a short nap, if u drink a couple of glasses of water before bed u will wake up to pee. if u do again when u wake, u should wake again in a couple of hours. this doesn't mean that you will be awake when your 3 year old escapes though. teach him to wake u when he gets up? teach him to use the tv remote? or set your alarm clock and get up early? a deep sleep is not a bad thing, just not always convenient. lock the doors with a barrel bolt just out of reach? and have lots of good smoke detectors, the photoelectric kind. i have used a combination of all of these with my active child.
Sleeping deeply is a sign of good health and that you live in a stable environment that provides you with feelings of comfort and security. What happened to you can happen to anyone and fortunately nothing serious happened because of it. It would be a better idea if you put the energy that you are expending on guilt to better use by giving some thought to how to prevent such things from occurring in the future in a more constructive way other than jeopardizing your sleep which only leads to health problems. However, if you feel uncertain about my advice, you can always trust your own instinct and see a health professional because for a few dollars more he will tell you there is nothing wrong with you other than a normal reaction to stressful event. As long as your deep sleep isn't caused by some chemical that you are ingesting, such as downers, there is nothing wrong with you.
Enough of deep sleep is a blessing, just make arrangements so your son can't get away or find anything at home that may harm. Anyway everyone has to be particular about these things. Even while awake, mother may be busy in some work or in the toilet and the toddler may get involved in something. So better is to keep the things safe rather than labelling deep sleep as sleep disorder and finding a cure!
Good luck! Sleepwell!
