Um well this hunger COULD be related the medication. Usually acid reflux is caused by something your eating or drinking but since your a diabetic it might not be related. But are you drinking alot of Coffee in the morning? If so try not too its a huge cause for acid reflux. Try solving the problem at its source the acid reflux.
perhaps maybe you need direct insulin, and the oral medication is not working well.
