I had the gastric by-pass surgery 11 days ago.?

Question:
I am now going to start the pureed diet and don't know what foods to eat. I have a sample menu from the hospital but it's food I dislike. Do you have any other suggestions?

Answers:
whomever you paid all of your money too, or billed insurance to, that, is who you should ask..... get your money's worth...plus it "aint" like you can't google "puree food"... right?!!?
i would try fruit purees if you like peaches and things like that call and ask your doc what fruits you can safely puree and have , but i know the other more solid type things like pureed mashed potatoes and green beans probably do taste gross, so kind of fill them in on what you like and see what modifications they can make for you, so that you are comfortable and happy in your recovery and good luck =-)
Learn to love protein drinks and REALLY watch the sugar. You can add a scoop of sugar free Nestle Quik to a protein drink (whey is good and causes less intestinal discomfort than soy) to make it a bit more tasty. Just watch the sugar. I'm sure you've been warned about dumping syndrome... My sis got the surgery and her body didn't heal as fast as it should have- because she didn't get enough protein and nutrients during the *crucial* healing time. You've got to go for the most bang for the buck now that every single bite you eat has to count for something (nutritionally).
