Can a type 1 diabetic be non-insulin dependent with a super strict diet and exercise regime?

Question:

Answers:
Nope. A Type 1 diabetic makes NO insulin. Not even enough to keep them alive and their heart beating without eating ANY carbs.

Without insulin, a Type 1 diabetic will lapse into a coma, as the body breaks down fat for energy since it cannot access any of the sugar in the blood. The sugar "sits" in the blood, reaching sky high levels. Insulin is the key that allows glucose into the cells. As fat is broken down in large amounts, it produces a by product called ketones. Ketones poison the person and turn their blood acidic. This evetually leads to death if untreated. Exercise without insulin will actually RAISE ketones levels, making the situation even more dangerous.

This can happen in a matter of hours to days in anyone who has Type 1 diabetes without any (or very little) insulin.

It is a quick process. People have died after not taking their insulin. Don't let that be you. There is no reason for it.

Rare exceptions are people with LADA, which is a slow form (latent) of Type 1 autoimmune diabetes in adults. Some adults with LADA can go for awhile without insulin and use oral medication.

Once Type 1 diabetes has fully developed, insulin injections are needed no matter what. Anyone who tells you otherwise is misinformed and putting your life at risk. Pleae ask your doctor all questions of this nature.
yes. don't eat any starch, such as breads, pasta, rice, etc... take all your medications, check your glucose levels, and exercise as much as you can, but don't force yourself. Better check with a doctor first. Eat brown rice or if you could find it Basmati rice. No sweets of any kind. Well, maybe once a month?
If you want to life a long life, no.

Before insulin was discovered in the 1920's, the only treatment for type I diabetes was to severely limit the intake of food containing any kind of starch (which converts to glucose), as you describe. This often resulted in a deficiency of key nutrients.
And exercize in the absence of insulin caused ketone build-up in the blood from muscle tissue breaking down.

Diabetics using this only method available to control their disease did not live long lives.
In fact, most children with Type I died before they reached puberty.

The discovery of insulin literally gave Type I diabetes a fighting chance at living a typical life span.
Not likely because the pancreas is not putting out enough or any insulinl.

Type two diabetics can manage with diet. Pops
no
Not with out complications. Type 1 diabetics can not maintain a healthy blood sugar level with out insulin.
