Winging scapula and adhesive capsulitis?

Question:
Have shoulder arthritis in right shoulder! Also have frozen shoulder! Have winging scapula on top of it all! Does frozen shoulder cause winging scapula? or vice versa? What can be done to correct it? Iam going to Pt currently!

Answers:
It is very likely that the two conditions are linked. There is a muscle called Serratus Anterior that basically holds the scapula forward, a weakness of that muscle or the nerve to that muscle can cause scapular winging. In your case you may have a weakness of that muscle that showed up as a result of the increased forces placed on the scapula due to the Frozen Shoulder.
