Can you catch herpes from a toliet seat?
Question:
Answers:
No. STDs are almost ALWAYS spread by sex or some sort of sexual contact. They can NOT be spread by using a toilet seat after someone. If STDs were able to spread by toilet seats, A LOT more people would have STDs out there!
I have had genital herpes and HPV for over 6 years now. I lived with my parents and brothers most of those 6 years (I contracted both viruses when I was 17). NONE of my family members ever got herpes or HPV from me by using something after me like the toilet or shower. I've also had several other family members and boyfriends (now ex's) use the bathroom after me and NONE of them ever contracted either virus. They are just not spread that way.
Crabs, or pubic lice, may be transmitted an infested toilet seat. However, lice cannot survive away from the human body for longer than 24 hours. So contracting pubic lice from a toilet seat is possible, but it's unlikely.
Good luck!
NO
no u can not..
I don't believe you can catch herpes from a toilet seat but you should research it. I don't know what diseases you can catch though.
im not sure on this one but if it bothers you yea you should try cleaning it before you seat.
You can get cooties, and that's about it. Sexually transmitted diseases are spread via sexual intercourse with an infected person.
hahahaha
we learned this in 2nd grade
Not unless you have sex with someone with active herpes while sitting on a toilet seat.
no you cannot. it's transmitted through bodily fluids. pretty much these diseases die within seconds of becoming airborne. there's nothing to worry about.

Your BF is either uneducated or lying. You can not get herpes from a toilet seat. PERIOD!
You can not catch herpes from a toilet seat. Viruses are very sensitive to temperature, light, etc. You should not worry about sitting on a toilet seat at your friends house. The only thing you can get from common household surfaces that is serious, is hepatitis B. You can get this from touching any surface, not just sitting on a toilet. Get yourself immunized if you are not already.
no you can not catch herpes from a toilet seat.i just learned that the other day watching the Oprah show, the doctor on the Oprah show said it was impossible to catch STD from the toilet.just to play it safe, i always squat or line the seat with toilet paper.
That is something you have to talk to your doctor about.
If you notice in your bathroom, the toilet seat is round.
In a bublic restroom, the toilet seat is U shaped.
During the second world war. Many servicemen returing
home had sexually transmitted diseases, and blamed it on
the toilet seats. So the government passed the law to have
to have the toilet seats changed in public restrooms as you
see them today. That was in the days was when pennicelin
was a cure. Today is a different ball game with so many
diseases that pennicelin's are resistant to. Again check
with your doctor and get information on the symtoms.<}:-})
If it makes you feel better to carry disinfecting wipes to clean a public toilet seat, go ahead. You can catch something this way only if someone with something rubbed their junk over the seat the you did. So as lond as you aren't doing the nasty on toilets don't worry.
No. The herpes virus can only survive a few seconds outside the body, and a toilet seat it a very hostile environment, and how is it going to get there in the first place? As I recall, when you sit on a toilet seat it is your behind and your thighs at most that make contact, not your genitals. It is perfectly safe.
As other posters said, only crabs can be caught that way.
