Can the medication Soma help to reduce gag reflexes?

Question:
I have a terrible gag reflex and I heard that soma helps with relaxing muscles, but would it help to get rid of a gag reflex? Also what side effects are included with soma?

Answers:
That would be a "no". The gag reflex is based in the brainstem and has nothing to do with the tension of the muscles in the area. You can gradually reduce the strength of the gag reflex by gradually desensitizing the area.
I've never heard of it having that effect but that's not to say it wouldn't work. Good luck. i myself took it for my back but I was getting it on the black market lol. I can't get it mailed to me b/c for some reason they don't ship to Texas, lucky u!

As far as side effects go check out here
