Best FLU medicine? help!!?

Question:
Can anybody recommend a good flu medicine? I am dying here... I took 2 ephedrine (bronchodilator with guafenesin), Top Care cough and sore throat, and drank a small hurricane.. NOTHING is knocking this out! It's like a bronchial horrible cough with fever and aches and pains... my chest and throat are raw... son's dad is an ER doctor but he is too busy to take my calls right now and although I want to KILL him I thought before doing that I would ask you all what works for you? Thanks...

Answers:
Whiskey with ice takes away the symptoms and makes you feel better. Sudafed is good too because it relieves the symptoms and gives you an energy boost. Drinks lots of water and eat protien so your body can fight the virus.
vidamin c, drink plenty of liqueds and get plenty of rest. good luck with that.
I would go on and go to the ER. Sounds like it could be something worse than the Flu and you dont want to be taking all this medication if its not going to do anything for you and to make sure that its not pneumonia or bronchitis.
YES! Chicken Soup! 7-up! When you start to feel better best best thing to do is to eat food. Drink alot of fluid! Take your vitamins. You have to eat to get better sooner. Also take medicine there are many to take and that is your question. What I'm saying is that you have to drink alot of fluid and eat that good old chicken soup. Did you know it has been studied for symptom of the flu. It relly is Dr. recommened. You have to go see a Dr. this could get worse!!
