^Before taking anything, see your doctor for a full physical, to rule out anything else. Take a list of everything your taking including over the counter meds with you, you could have an underlying condition or it could be your medication. Speak to your doctor about taking vitamins. Good luck, I hope this helps.
Sometimes the medication can make you drowsy, but after a meal, your blood sugar will spike making you sleepy. Unfortunately, I think drowsiness is common for diabetics. I am diabetic, as is my sister, and we both complain about being tired and sleepy all of the time.
people w/ diabetes usually have a problem w/ high blood pressure that can cause drowsiness. also poor circulation can cause drowsiness. 2 things can help start jogging in the evenings even if its just around one block do this for a month and then increase the distance this will help with circulation and your blood pressure. the other is to cut back on the food intake little by little and see if that helps(it could be your body is producing to little adrenalin and cant keep you alert. coffee can help this or caffeine pills(vivorin or jet alert)(these pills also can cause your sugar levels to fluctuate more) there is one more thing that comes to mind eating salads w/ a Baltic vinegar(vinegar and oil) vinegar helps the body react to insulin and adrenalin better
remember talk to your doc
it could be medicines you on. it could also be low iron or trouble with your blood pressure. i would talk to your doctor and see hi they have any ideals that could help you.
