You really, really need to go to a doctor before you permanently lose your hearing in that ear!!
go to walmart etc. there is some medicine made especially for ear aches. Ask the pharmacy there to point them out to you. A nurse I worked for once recommended this to our patients. Hope it helps!
You really do need to see a doctor. If that is impossible speak to your pharmasist. If you have been swimming you may have "swimmers ear" and need antibiotics. The pharmasist may be able to give you an over the counter but I doubt it.
You need antibiotics soon. If you can't afford the doctor, go to the emergency room.
Take excedrin or ibuprofin for the pain. I know how bad it can be.
My dad told me that you can put hydrogen peroxide into your ear and it will eat any bacteria and clean the ear canal. He said you just pour it in, and you'll hear all sorts of crackling and pops, but that's normal. Not sure how long to leave it in or anything, but I bet you can do a google search and come up with stuff. Good luck.
I would continue with the Sudafed, but get the original formula. The pharmacy keeps it behind the counter. The other isn't as good. Then, take an antihistamine as well. And put an eye dropper full of peroxide into the ear,2x a day for 3 days.lay on your side and leave it in there until it quits foaming, keep a cotton ball or tissue on hand to wipe away any excess that foams out,and to catch it when you sit up. If it isn't any better then go to the Dr.
