Answers:
atopic dermatitis..or eczema. You need to use a steroid topical ointment after showers when your body is still wet so it will lock in the moisture, DO NOT use soap or exfoliators, they will make the rash worse due to the perfumes, chemicals & excessive damage to the tissue. Use Dove soap because it is so mild on every place without the eczema & just wash the problem areas with water. Apply those areas w/ the steroid such as hydrocortizone or something the dermatologist can prescribe & maintain hydration w/ unscented natural colloidal oatmeal lotion like Aveeno or generic. Drink plenty of fluids as well to keep the skin from breaking. Your skin is the largest organ in your body & your body's first line of defense against pathogens. When you have a skin condition that is constantly breaking down you are more susceptible to infections & exacerbation of the problem. This is totally manageable, but frustrating to start the healing cycle.
Stick with this treatment..it works!
Funny that the doc didn't give any advice...how about a second opinion? I would keep exfoliating and then applya gentile lotion to keep the skin soft, but see another doc.
My husband has the same thing on the back of his legs and on his upper arms, they're not like pimples cause he said they're too hard to "pop" and pick at (he can't leave things alone lol). Aside from exfoliating with a loofah there's not much you can do. Our doctor told him it's from dry skin. So he exfoliates and then uses a lotion with an oatmeal base called Aveeno, he just started it a few months ago and it's slowly clearing up.
you should ask your doctor about the pill Tetracycline, you take 2 a day, it brings everything out of your skin and gets rid of it, it helped me so much.

Also I use Nuetrugena Body wash with an aloofa, its helped to.
get a tan lol
