Freckles from the sun= Skin Cancer?

Question:
I tan quite often [ vacations, beach, sometimes indoor] and since have seen a few freckles appear on my nose and the sides of my nose around the area by my cheek.
I am middle eastern with dark hair and olive to tan skin complexion naturally.
could it be skin cancer?

Answers:
Any tanning IS unhealthy. Honestly, as paranoid as this sounds, you should avoid exposure at all costs. Even one blistering sunburn is enough to increase your odds of skin cancer by 100%.

That said... freckles are your skin's reaction to the sun. UV rays increase your skin's melanin production. It's a natural defense. Your skin wants to make itself darker to reduce the UV rays it absorbs. This is why people from tropical climates have dark skin naturally, because they are constantly bombarded with harmful radiation. A tan is an overall increase in melanin production throughout your skin, while freckles are localized collections, completely normal. Your facial skin is especially delicate and thin, the best friend to freckle production.

Please... stop tanning. The radiation (yes, similar to NUCLEAR and MICROWAVE radiation) is bad for you in the doses you are taking. There is a dramatic increase in skin cancer recently, and I believe it is because of tanning/unsafe exposure/inadequate precautions. Heck, there was even a study released that skin cancer is more prevelant in the US in peoples' LEFT arms, because of exposure to the sun while driving.

Good luck.
Yes, it could be. Keep in mind too that when freckles do appear, it means that there is a LOT of unseen skin damage below the surface. Go get checked out by a dermatologist and STOP TANNING.
Freckles are not skin cancer. But if you are tanning, especially outdoor tanning, you are running a risk. Not so much as a fair skinned person, but I would cut it out if I were you.
