Any home remedy or cures for insomnia?

Question:
Here lately it doesn't seem to matter what time I goto bed I wake up somewhere between 1-3am. Like earlier I fell asleep between 11-11:30 and was awake again by 1am. Does anyone have a drug free remedy that will help me sleep soundly during the nite. I usually end up falling asleep again around 5-6 am. But this is really wearing me out. Im not sleeping straight through the nite and when I wake up im up for a while.

Answers:
sleepy time tea works well with a nice warm bath.
don't eat anything for a couple hours before you're ready to sleep.
Uh...turkey actually has hormones that makes a person sleepy (no lie) so eat some turkey..its lean protein so it's good for you. Another method is to exercise until fatigue a hour before you sleep..works for me! Good luck!
Try drinking a warm tea before bedtime...Make sure you have NO caffiene though. If you don't like tea, try some warm milk. Also, you might try investing in one of those "sound" machines...it has sounds of birds, the ocean, etc. Once you train yourself to sleep thru a night or two, you should be able to kick the habit. (I am dealing with this also!)
Milk is the best one, also yogourt.

Another thing is DO NOT think about it. If you think about waking up, then it'll happen. Just think of sleep, good cold hard sleep. This happens to me all the time too. Also, work out before going to sleep. The more tired your body becomes, the less weary it is when you're sleeping and it wouldn't wake itself up.
Insomnia is often caused by fear, stress, anxiety, medications, herbs, caffeine, depression or sometimes for no apparent reason. Make sure your bedroom is quiet and dark. Soak a tablespoon of mint leaves in a cup of water for an hour, drink every night. Check out http://useinfo-insomnia.blogspot.com/... for more info
Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress,
dietary and medical problems. By making
small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly,
insomnia can be cured. I found the information

Here I have two suggestions for curing insomnia.

1. Yoga prevents insomnia, due to its stimulatory effect on the nervous system and the brain in particular. This is because certain yoga postures increases blood circulation to the brain, which normalizes the sleep cycle. The deep breathing techniques that are adopted in yoga, helps in more oxygen intake, thereby providing better clarity of mind. Also due to the benefits of yoga in relieving tension, stress and fatigue and in providing relaxation to mind and body, one can rest assured of a blissful sleep.

2. Useful Herbs

Lavender oil – A few drops of lavender oil can be added to the pillow at bed time. It is calming and pleasant and will give a relaxing effect.

Chamomile – The flowers of Chamomile are used as tranquilizer for insomnia, stress and anxiety. This is not recommended for pregnant woman or for individuals who suffer from chronic disorders of digestive tract and ulcerative colitis. It can be used as tea or as a liquid extract.
