Don't you just HATE Mosquitos!?!?

Question:
laying down trying to get to sleep and all you can hear is this "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee... from this tiny annoying agitating ridiculously pointless insect! grr! and not only that they'll gladly take your blood and some in other countries can give you malaria!
i mean grr do they even have one purpose on this earth? like bees may sting but they help germinate flowers and spread the seeds dont they? there is a point for them being here if u see what i mean, grr!!

*breathes*

anyone agree? (i feel better now)

(oh and sorry its in this category, there wasnt one for insects/bugs)

Answers:
Gotta agree with you there!! They drive me nuts too! And its most annoying when your trying to sleep, but when you turn the light on, the little buggers disappear!
I don't just hate them, I loathe them and they drive me to distraction. I live in Spain, but luckily we don't get too many where I live. I make sure I don't have any stagnant water around.
Added : I use a product called 'Halley'. They sell it here in Spain and it is the only thing that I have found that actually repels them. It smells great too. It costs around 6 euros for 250ml.
YES !! I AGREEE !!

What purpose do they serve ? NONE!

I HATE mozzies - and I have reason to - - - ever had Ross River Virus?

I have.
I hate them and they drive me nuts. SO you are not alone.
Oh I hate those things! They come after me all the time. That and my stupid neighbor's dogs who are loaded with fleas. The come trapezing around my driveway and attack my dog. And then my dog gets fleas.
What makes it worse - it's only the pregnant females who bite. But we can't tell them apart.
I hate it! the best thing in the world is laying on the lawn and relaxing but instead i get a EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! and end up itching for a week.
ugghh misquitos and their nasty little sounds are soooooo annoying.!! they only pick around in summer and its winter now so im happy:)
remember they are part of the food chain also..

so other things eat them..

as for repelling them, start eating garlic or garlic tablets if u don't like garlic.. they seem to hate the stuff..

depends, some types of skin they like, but they normally leave me alone.
I am not fond of anything that grabs a meal and runs at my expense !
No, I don't like mosquitoes but I don't hate them either. I try to take steps to keep them away from me.

Just because we can't find their purpose doesn't mean they don't have one.
mosquitos are awful.. disease carrying vermin..
YES ! I have been eaten alive by those annoying little things. I have three on one ankle and two on the other, one on the back of my knee and one on my calf, one on the back of my arm and one on my shoulder blade, they had a good old feast last night and I can't stop itching! they are so itchy and I've itched and itched i now have little blood marks as well ! very attractive eh !
God forsaken things. GGGGRRRRRRR At least we aren't on our own !
I am pretty lucky, the midges and mossies don't tend to feast off me...but son son gets to be a major meal for all the local blood suckers lol. Last night he got bitten on his rear end!
Oh I completely agree!

Though at the moment, my problem is a cricket SOMEWHERE in my living room just outside my bedroom door. Every time I come near and area, it stops, but by then it's too late to turn the light on and find it... even still, I'm not finding anything! But I hear it! That "yeee yeee yeee yeee yeee yeee yeee yee" sound. grr. I dare you, I dare you you little disease ridden agent of terror, just step into the light, let me see you!

Okay *breathes* I feel a bit better myself.
i hate them. its the female that spreads malaria and they kill over one million people a year. time for a universal insectacide campaign
That is exactly my point, they are the most irritating bugs on the planet and they don't do anything except for annoy and infect.
YES! YES! YES!
I agree...
If something like dinosaurs can extinct, why can't mosquitoes?

I agree, when we are trying to get some sleep, the mosquitoes will be flying around our ears and annoy us till we can't sleep.

There once, when I took my bath, I saw many mosquitoes in my bathroom, and I killed them (with my bare hands) like 7 of them..
*hahahahaha, evil maniacal laughter*

:)
We have a tiny canal boat so are out on the water Spring - late Autumn.
Found that a daily garlic oil capsule and a vitamin B1 tablet seems to safeguard us against most bites (they don't like the smell that comes through your skin apparently).
Always keep anti-histamine tablets and cream, and one of those Clix gadgets handy, just in case, and for unwary visitors who have been bitten.
If they start buzzing/whining - the cat gets them!
i agree with u totally horrible things
Yes, it's annoying to have those in your house. There are many ways to get rid or prevent those mosquitos, and in my opinion, the most practical way is to put screens in your windows and doors. Insect repellants are potentially dangerous to eveyone's health.
I don't just hate them,I hate them with a vengeance, they carry disease's,and they are whats the sentence I'm looking for?
modern day blood-sucking vampires,yes that's it.
facts:
mosquito is Spanish for little fly, dates back to about 1572,the word was adopted to replace the term "biting flies"to prevent confusion with house fly's.

there are 4 thousand species of mosquito inhabit regions all over the world.

they are food for dragonfly's and other predators.
