Question:
Answers:
yes, just make sure you use a new lancer(needle) to poke yourself this will keep you from getting any infections or infectious diseases also use an alcohol swab before poking yourself.
its your responsibility to protect yourself do not listen to the idiot that said do not worry about the needle thats how people get AIDS
you shoul make sure he replaces the needle befor he does it that is the main part also he will need another test strip beacause the other will have tainted blood inside of it
Yes, it's fine. Don't worry about the dirty needle or tainted strip... that's ridiculous. Your adult friend will certainly know the right way to do it. (Fresh lancet, fresh test strip).
It is perfectly safe to use someone elses machine. Just make sure that it has a new needle and a new test strip in it. Also check to make sure that it is coded properly. To do that you look at the bottle the strips are in and when you insert the strip into the machine it will display a number. That number should match the one on the bottle. You dont have to recode them very often just when changing bottles of strips normally. But other than that its fine to use your friends machine. I work in nursing homes and do public health fairs on the weekend and we use the same machine for every one.
yes you can use someone Else's machine just be sure to use a new strip and needle for your test.
yeah its okay as long as they replace the needle first and clean your finger
Yes it is alright as long as he puts in new parts. Its the part that pokes your finger and then the part that collects the sample of blood that he is talking about. Its perfectly safe after he does that. He should also change it again after he tests you, before he tests himself again.
My dad used his to test me, good thing he did, thats how we found out I had diabetes. Goodluck
Yes,it's perfectly all right as long as a new lancet (little needle that pricks the skin)is used and the machine is clean. In the hospital, the nurses check all the patients on the floor with the same tester all the time.
Yes but don't use a used needle.
I have one and the supplies builds up so they can afford to give you a fresh needle.
^ If the person sterilizes it properly and uses a new lancet, it's okay, but if you think you may be diabetic go to your doctor where you can get an accurate test. If you insist on doing it anyway it should be before you eat and/or 2 hours after you eat.
Yes I use my mom's meter and we change the needles and I check my glucose levels. As long as you change the needles and the strips your ok. In fact they use the same meter at my doctor's office they change the needles and strips. I have my own meter now so I don't have to use my mom's meter anymore. Although I don't have Diabetes I bought the meter to keep a check on my glucose levels they've been running a little higher than usual.
