You could try the gum, the patch, cold turkey, whatever. But the only way that you are going to succeed in quitting is if you have the will power to do so. If you truly want to quit deep down in your heart, then you will be able to easily, without the aid of any stop-smoking products.

what do you have to do? you can do alot. see a doc, go to the lung association website. look at pics of diseased lungs, they will have tips on how to stop smoking.
Your personal wish is very important. Just think about all the diseases you can get from smoking and imagine how much you'd have to suffer if you do. That should help.
Cut a straw into 2 or 3 peices , instead of pulling from a cig, pull fresh air from the straw. the fresh oxygen with calm you and help subside your craving. Sucking on vitamin c drops or tablets will help the cravings. Cinnamon sticks or cinnamon gum also help during aggravating withdrawls. Or you could try a stop smoking aid that your doctor can prescribe.
You don't have to do anything. The best way to stop smoking is....not to smoke.

Seriously, think of something else when you want to smoke. Try to get your mind busy and don't leave a cigarette in your reach or available.
stop buying cigarettes and you'll have nothing to smoke.
I am not a smoker, but i had learned from my father since he used to smoke before but not now anymore coz he stopped. Well, it is not advisable to stop it directly, do it slowly, take your time. If u used to smoke one pack of cigarette try to smoke 3/4 of it and if u feel dizzy then try to have some bubble gum as a substitute for it. Do this everyday and watch the amount of cigarette your consuming too every week, see if u have some improvement.
I agree that there are a number of ways to stop. Understandably, it can be very difficult. I have met a number of people who have stopped cold turkey, usually after a severe health scare. The point here is, that, the brain is so tremendously powerful, it can be done, and, should be, before there is a severe health scare.
Other ways I have used to help patients stop include hypnosis and EFT. Look up EFT on google and if possible, find a clinician to teach you. Fascinating simple treatment that can take away your cravings and help you through the withdrawal period. Good luck to you and please, do stop. Smoking will eventually kill you!! I know you know this, but, really just a reminder to anyone else reading this. You will stop smoking. Tell yourself that, you don't necessarily want to stop smoking, but, you want to be a non-smoker.

Throw away your cigarettes, don't buy anymore, instead always ask to spare one from your friends, if possible don't mix with smokers, drink lot water, usu shewing gum instead, it's not easy to give up any habit, use will power..
It's not easy but I did it. HOW? Doctor told me I had emphysema!!!!!!WOW Well I tried patches, I tried gum, I tried tablets and nothing really helped very much. Then one night I could not sleep because I was having trouble breathing . . . and I asked God to help me to quit smoking.
(I am not overly religious) - but he did help me and that was in February 2005. Now and again I still want a cigarette - but as everyone else has told you - don't buy them, and you will not be able to smoke them. Good luck! Stay healthy!
