Why do we use shamoop on our head, and soap on our body?

Question:
I think shampoo and much more mild and not as harsh as soap. (I don't use shampoo on my body) but why the difference?

Answers:
Shampoo is really milder and don't dry your hair like a soap does.It has more ingredients which are important for hair not so important for skin. Shampoo lather much than soap and this make it's easier to wash your hair using shampoo.
Nowadays many people don't really use soap to wash their skin and replace it with some special gels, cleanser or lotions which are milder and don't destroy your skin's natural hydro-lipid mantle which is connected with moisturizing.
There are so many kinds of body wash out there these days and seem to better on the skin than soap
