but my cough is a barking noise that i cant stop my cough attacks. i just need to rest but cant sleep because of my cough.

Try lemsip all-in-one pack, which is quite new to the market.. in the UK anyway. Its the first cough medicine that has worked for me. Its like a tube, you open the top and drink it.
