Is coffee bad when you take antibiotic?

Question:

Answers:
Yes, because it is a diuretic...it draws water away from your body and when you're on an antibiotic, you need to stay hydrated
I've never heard that it is of any harm.
it depends on the antibiotic. Some antibiotics and the dr or pharmacist will tell you if an antibiotic reacts or what to MAOI inhibitors, anti depressants and tyramine products. Zyvox is an antibiotic that you should stear clear of coffee, soy, aged anything meaning cheeses, saurercrout, Meats that have been cured or whatever (any lunch/deli meat) Hams. But then coffee also dehydrates you and you want to be hydrated on any antibiotic. However I have always drank coffee (except on zyvox) and have never had problems.
Have cystic fibrosis and have been on every antibiotic and have been givin the list of you can and cannot do this. Usually if meds have side effects, I get the ones that are 1 in 100 people and above :)
