My freind tested his blood sugar, the results was 417. How concerned shuold he be?

Your friend should be pretty concerned about this. If he has not been diagnosed with diabetes then he should get to the doctor as soon as possible and get tested for diabetes. I am not 100% sure what the norms are but I am thinking it is somewhere like 80-130, give or take a few numbers. I work in a hospital and the nurses get real worried with a blood suger of 417, in some cases it means a call to the doctor. Out of control diabetes for an extended amount of time can lead to some other bad conditions. My childhood friend never did what the doctors told him and by the time he was 25 he had both legs amputed and was starting to go blind. He died 2 months after his 27th birthday because even after loosing both legs he still didn't do what the doctors said. Your friend should for sure go see a doctor and get this under control. My friends story is pretty drastic but still, it could and did happen.

Well it seems like your friend has diabetes...cos he has way to much blood sugar...normally you have 80-100.
He should go to the doctor and if he's overweight he should start losing it right away.

That is so, so very dangerous. He really needs to go to the ER, now! He is diabetic, and with his blood sugar that high he is LUCKY that he has not went into a coma yet.

You friend needs to go to the doctor. The sooner the better! If your friend is not diabetic then he is now. The normal blood sugar number is 100 or under. He really really needs to see a doctor before he gets really sick.
he needs to see his doctor because that is high, If he is diabetic he needs to be on treatment. If he waits and that goes higher that is very dangerous and can be life threatening.
He should be very concerned. Does his breath smell like Juicy Fruit gum? That's a sign of high sugar to an extreme. 417 is way off the charts. He needs to seek out treatment and now!
If this person has been diagnosed, and does not follow the treatment plan, the next question is: does he have a death wish? If so, this is not a good way to die.
He needs to go to the hospital if this is correct. However, were his hands clean? Sometimes if my hands are sticky I get a really high, false reading. Was the meter coded correctly?
He needs to go to the ER now! He could go into a coma. Did he also have blurred vision problems?
Be very afaid and get imediate help 600 will get you hospitalized!
