When referring to Respiratory uses its usually used as an Asthma Maintenance. I think they are trying to get away from that more and more and replace oral Prednisone with inhaled steroids like Advair, Flovent or Pulmicort.

Prednisone is a steriod. IIt's useful as an anti-inflammitory drug. My husband takes it for allergies. My dog takes it for disc disease in his back. It's a very cheap drug that has alot of uses. Look it up.
