I have pneumonia?

Question:
I was diagnosed about 24 hours ago and I am still having the fevers, I feel like my lungs are starting to clear out but is it normal for me to still be having the fevers that I cannot shake? How long does it normally take to clear up? I am on antibiotics also if this will help you thanks in advice or tips you can offer

Answers:
Completely normal. Be sure to take all of the antibiotics. Otherwise you'll just get it again. You're going to be fine! :)
What are you doing in front of the computer! You should be sleeping...NOW! Good Luck and Good Night.
You can have fevers up to 72 hours of starting the antibiotics. Have some Tylenol and rest. If you continue with the fevers then you need to be checked again and possible they will change the antibioic.
Oh, better put a plastic bag on you back for 2 hours. Then remove it. Change it with another plastic back after 20-30 minutes. Then remove it again for another 2 hours. Make it a point the you will remove the plastic bag after 2 hours because if you will exceed 2 hours, you will have blisters.
Be sure also you will not take a bath on the day you placed those plastic bags. Don't take a bath also on the next day. One thing more, drink only lukewarm water everyday to lower your fever and to help the plastic treatment procedure.
Simply follow this instruction so that there's no need for you to have a hole on your body so as to remove the water inside your lungs.
Have a nice day and GOD BLESS :)
It will take roughly 48-72 hours for the full benefit of the antibiotics to kick in. It's hard to say exactly how long you will feel whacked, it depends on how extensive the infection was and how much of the lung has filled with fluid. I've had pneumonia twice. It took a good week to start feeling human again, although the fevers usually went away in a couple of days. You will feel tired and worn out until the lungs clear well, and the infection is gone. In the meantime, the best thing you can do is rest, eat well and take life easy. Drink loads of fluids, and take all the antibiotic you were given. You will also find it easier to breath if you lay propped up and on your right side. That gives the heart a little more room to work. The best thing is to let your body recoup on it's own schedule, just provide the things it needs to do the job. That's just rest, fluids, medicine and good food.
.You won't get over it by the next day, and you will always have a scar(s) on your lung(s). It also makes you MORE susceptible to it . It can weaken you and make you anemic. Inhalers, helped me immensely ! The worst part of it to me, was the pleurisy
Sometimes antibiotics are not enough to deal with pneumonia.
If you are able to, get out to the drug store and get yourself some Mucinex...it's Robitussin in a pill form and you only have to take it once every 12 hours...which means twice a day. If you choose to take the liquid cough syrup, you will be taking a teaspoon or a table spoon every 4 hours...
You also want to drink plenty of fluids..this will help to thin out the secretions in your lungs...
Vicks is another good thing to use...rub it on your chest at night before you go to bed...just make sure you remove the vicks before you go out side...
Theraflu is another good medicine...the one you mix with hot water...you may need to add some sugar to it. It works though...
Hope you feel better
