Accutane for whiteheads?

Question:
i have mild whiteheads.can i take accutane for that?

Answers:
accutane isn't for mild skin problems. it's for "outta control, i've tried everything else on the market" kind of acne. If you're really concerned about it, and have tried other antibiotics and prescription creams, it's worth asking your dermatologist. Accutane tends to make it much worse before it gets better, and doesn't keep you from ever having zits again...it's just more managable. It dries you out like a prune, too, which means painful, disgustingly chapped lips and ashy skin for three months no matter how much lip balm or lotion you use. I'd try other prescriptions before jumping into accutane. Especially if it's not really, really, really bad acne.
